I FELT LIKE IT WAS A DAY AT THE BEACH
THE BEACH EXERTS STRENGTH OF THE SOUL;
Open spaces, nature, cycles, cleansing properties and elements; like the sun, the salt from the sea, grains of sand, all leaving reminders on your skin of the day at the beach. You go home and shower, but this shower isn’t a shower where you clean your body like normal; you rinse away the elements of nourishment from a day spent aligning with nature. You rinse it from the surface but what’s already been absorbed is enough to fuel you.
YOU'RE WRAPPED UP BY THE TREES LIKE A BLANKET
Imagine a slow forest walk between the beach and getting home. The trees are full with an array of lush green leaves and spindly, detailed brown branches. Never once repeating, but showing a beautiful uniqueness in the what appears initially as repetitive. Like a finger print. You have 10, but each one is uniquely individual. Each leaf, each branch. You notice the strong, grounded trunks of the trees; it’s body. It has a spine like length to it, curves where curves feel suited. Its weathered bark shows a strength and resilience that is character to that protective layer which holds dearly a sensitive system mapped out within.
You notice the expansion from the base of the tree, right up to the delicate top, swaying in the lightest of ocean breezes, with the sensitive branches reaching out as far as they can, like when you stand, stretch, reach up and extend every part of you, emphasising every millimetre of your body, from the joints in your toes through to the tips of your fingers. You reach up and feel every fibre of your body taking up as much space as you can possibly fill with your whole physical being.
Trees do this gracefully in the mix with all the other trees surrounding it. They allow each other to take as much space as they all need, to stand tall and expansive, impressively present and as individually eye catching as the next one, all while respecting each others boundaries. As you walk through this patch of forest the trees acknowledge you, as one of them, as part of nature with the grainy salt on your body, your sun kissed skin and the crunch of sand between your toes.
You are welcomed as much as one of them, as they do each other. You sense the invitation to expand like they do.
The sea shows you this expression of expansion, too. With every wave, unique like the branch of a tree, the sea will reach and stretch up over the shore taking as much space as it feels is needed to expand its essence of being a wave, being the ocean, as far as possible.
The shore, the beach, the sand all welcomes this expansion from the sea and and offers an invitation to co-create.
Leaving the beach and showering away your day leaves you feeling included, complete, expansive, and welcomed as you are.
